Let's Try This Again

Clearly working full time and raising three kids does not allow me much time to blog! I don't have any pictures from this past weekend (other than the ones Annika took around the house which I'll look at but I doubt will make the blog) but we did have a fun and exciting weekend. My mom came on Friday morning to be our sitter for our Friday night date. I took her and Annika to the cute little coffee shop in Kewaskum for lunch. Eric and I went out for dinner at Coa at Bayshore and then to the Brad Paisley concert. Fantastic show, very weird sound issues though. Mom slept over so on Saturday morning we took Calla to gymnastics class. Sunday was Packer playoff day and after watching an inspiring episode of The Pioneer Woman, I decided to make her entire menu and invite JoBeth and Tom over for the game. Unfortunately neither the Packers nor the coleslaw were any good but the company and the rest of the meal was so not all was lost.

Fall Fun

Every once in a great while the junk that comes out of those little machines at the grocery store is good for a laugh!

Halloween party/Emma's birhtday party put Calla in a festive spirit. She shined in this lovely hat!

A good keepsake...the 2nd grade coffee moms some of us anyway. Oh what will we look like on graduation day?!?!

Picking up where I left off.....a whole year later!

So I really want to blog so I just have to start again and try to keep going. It just so happens that it looks as though I stopped exactly one year ago! If I were to post some pictures of my life over the past month, it would be the Little Farmer and Halloween all over again...many of the same pictures, I'm sure! I'd like to try to go back in history and cover all of the last year but I don't have a month off of work or family! Still I'll try to go backward as well as forward so 2010 is not missing from our family history.

I was lucky enough to go on Calla's very first field trip today! We went to Speiker's Pumpkin Farm and had a ton of fun. We matched that day with our red sweaters (it was wear red day at school for Drug Awareness Week) but since we had to bundle up it was hardly noticable! Calla is experiencing a little static electricity!


Turns out we REALLY like Mrs. Collien, she excellent with the kids and adults!

Halloween Fun

After having such a great time Trick-or-Treating in Middleton last year, we decided to take advantage of Halloween being on a weekend still and do it again. Grandpa had lots of leaves to rake in the yard so he had the kids "help" and they had a blast!

Jacob, Emily, Zach and Mary Beth came over to join in the fun. Calla and Annika were both Ladybug Girl, Gannon was Optimus Prime and Zach was a little know wizard named Harry.

Brand new neighbors (in the Crow's house for my one friend who reads my blog) had the best costume we saw the whole night! That's a lotta yellow!!

Wow! Looking back October was a busy busy month. Here's the perfect reason to be blogging, when the children acuse us of never doing anything for them I'll head right for this week of this month. Friday night was the elementary school Halloween Party. Always a good time but seemed to be lacking a bit this year. Attendence was down and the music was way too loud! Is that a sign I'm getting old??

Sunday we left the baby with Grandma JoBeth and took Gannon and Calla to downtown Milwaukee to see Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business. It was very cute. Calla did as well as can be expected for her first experience with a show like that. We ended up with spectacular seats, second row, right in front. Afterward we had dinner at Friday's at Miller Park. This is a picture outside of the show in front of the Milwaukee River.

Then Wednesday night we met the Zingsheim family for dinner and a magic show. The kids had a great time. Annika was restless and we spent more time in the hall than in the theater but that's what happens when you try to take a baby to a show like that! Luckily it was free so we couldn't feel bad about spending money on something I didn't get to see. Mitchell brought a friend along, Eric. A very sweet, polite boy.

Still Celebrating

That same weekend (one week after Annika's birthday) we had a little celebration with Grandma JoBeth and Grandpa Tom, Kelly, Tom and Emersen. I realize now that I didn't even take a picture of her birthday cake, I'm slightly troubled by this, I can't imagine why - I made the same cake Mom made her kids - confetti angel food with that Waunakee Cookbook frosting. Maybe Grandma has a picture she can share.
